Dr. Thompson has trained with the top muscle disease specialists in the world including Professor Victor Dubowitz of England, Lord John Walton of England, and Dr. Ted Munsat of Boston. She has authored ground-breaking journal articles and presented papers at key international medical conferences. Her recent books are Raising a Child with a Neuromuscular Disorder (Oxford University Press, ISBN 0-19-512843-5), and the revised and expanded Raising A Handicapped Child (ISBN 0-19-513253-X). She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego.
