Despite her extensive medical background, Dr. Thompson is very down-to-earth. To help parents of children with disabilities, Raising a Handicapped Child was first published in 1986. It was published by Oxford University Press in 1999 in a revised and expanded version. Due to its popularity, it was also available on Books on Tape. Raising a Child with a Neuromuscular Disorder (Oxford University Press) is available online or can be ordered at any bookstore.
Dr. Thompson's latest book, Grandparenting a Child with Special Needs, has been published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers, US and UK. It is available online and at major bookstores.
